William loves being with other teenagers from across the UK who share his love of music.
He started playing the double bass at seven years old. Since then, he’s worked hard to develop his playing and performing with professional tutors, musicians and composers.
William loves rehearsing and playing with other string musicians in the section and with the whole orchestra. He says:
...the standard of NYO and all its musicians are unmatched (especially for a youth orchestra), and this helps drive me and further hone my orchestral playing.
He also loves the sense of community, saying:
I'm looking forward to meeting different people from all over the country!
