What will you use my information for?
We will ask you for some basic information to help you enjoy NYO and NYO Inspire concerts and activity, enjoy donor benefits, take part in NYO projects, sign up to our newsletters or make other general requests or enquiries. These may include your name, address, title, date of birth, telephone number, email address or financial details. Musicians who take part in projects, and staff members will be asked to provide further information including, but not limited to, education, health information, and dietary requirements.
We will use your information: to further our charitable aims; to invite voluntary participation in research or surveys, to research, analyse and improve our work services for our fundraising activities, products or information or for our internal records; to use IP addresses and monitor website use to identify locations, to gain a better understanding of our website users and inform marketing campaigns, block disruptive use, record website traffic or personalise information for you; or for administrative purposes.
We will not use your information in other ways unless you give us permission to do so.
We will do our best to protect your personal information. However, we cannot guarantee the security of your data transmitted before it reaches us, and any transmission is therefore at your own risk. Once we have received your information, we will use strict procedures and security features to try to prevent unauthorised access.
Cookies and website use information
We also collect anonymous information on the use of our website using log files or cookies. If we obtain an IP address, we will not use it to identify who you are unless we need to do so to enforce our terms and conditions, protect our services or other users.
We will never sell your data to any third party. We will not share your details with other charities for marketing purposes except where we think there will be a benefit to you AND you have agreed for us to do so.
We may need to share your information with a small number of trusted partners for the purposes outlined above. Where we use third parties, we require them to adhere to appropriate controls to protect personal information. They will not be allowed to sell your data or compromise its security in any way.
From time to time we may wealth screen our donor database. The results of this screening are treated as highly sensitive and used to enable our development team to make sensible and appropriate asks and requests of our donors.
Right of access
You have the right to ask for a copy of the information we hold about you and to have any inaccuracies in your information corrected.
How long will we keep your data?
We will keep your data live on our system while you are an active participant in NYO or an active donor. If we have not heard from you in the time period as specified in the General Data Protection Regulations (or for a period of 7 years for financial information) we will write to you asking if you would like to continue to hear from us. If you decide no or do not respond in an agreed timescale we will commit to removing all of your personal data permanently from all of our systems.
Together we’re an orchestra!
